Bucko's would be close for you.
Best bet would be to buy parts and fix yourself. Parts are available at bucko's , Redtop and some from Mike T.

Bob
is that cause the level wind doesnt travel back and forth like it should , smoothly . If thats the problem go to Buckos and get a couple new pawls . I change mine yearly or as needed .

Bob,
I have the same issues with my ABU6500 Pro Rocket from last year...
I think it was from the night I fished with you!...
remember I had the same problem with one of my reels?...
I'm going to try to work on it this week to get it ready for this season...
Bucko's is the place to go on Stafford Rd...

At worst, you may have to replace the worm gear in addition to the pawl. Neither requires an engineering degree Even a klutz like myself can do it.
Start with the pawl--they're about a buck apiece at Buckos. Just loosen the screw-in cap on the bottom of the guide--the old one will come out, the new one goes in prongs up. If that doesn't fix the problem, or if the level wind works fine for a short time and then starts acting up again, you'll probably have to do the worm gear, too.

if you need exploded reel diagrams, check out the links i posted in the FAQ forum. tons of abu reels listed. it will definately help if you find a part after reassembly that just never found a home.

I like the people over at Buckos but have had some issues with repaired reels a few years back. I wound up fixing them myself instead. One fantastic guy is Paul - The Reel Man - operating out of Quincy and MSBA. He overhauls hundreds of reels for people. Not sure if MikeCC is in the reel repair biz but he knows those reels as well....
