Be there early sat. From CT , you could go up 84 to Mass oike and then down to rt 3.

Cool

I should be there unless I run outta $$. Nothing worse than going to a show like that and not having some pocket $ for fun.

Now I have to figger an easy way to get from 84 to Pawtucket, other than the usual two-hour scenic vista of US 44 from Hartford.

I don't have the stomach for all of the overflow traffic that'll be taking the Merritt. With 95 open, the Merritt is a fuster-cluck on a Friday. It'll be 100 times worse tonite.

Seems a waste to back-track down 91 to New Haven once you're already in Hartford--any other alternate routes to get from 84 to 95 east of the closed area?

Yeah, I was afraid of that. It's still 2 more hours no matter how ya slice it, when Hartford and Providence are only 60 miles apart as the crow flies. 2 hours as the car crawls on 44, or two hours on the Great Circle route via Sturbridge and Marlboro.

It boggles the mind that in the year 2004, there is still no modern highway between Providence and Hartford

The route we wound up taking actually wasn't that bad---or wouldn't be bad on a "normal" Friday night. Out of the City, we took the Hutch to I-684, north to I-84 in Danbury, then we took I-691 in Waterbury which joins 91 about 15 miles north of New Haven, and picked up 95 at the Q-Bridge.

However, there was an accident on 684 in Katonah, plus 2 miles of merge delay getting onto 84. Then stop and go thru Danbury. Instead of going straight thru to Pawtucket, we stopped for the night in Branford, then went right to the show. But that route is something good to know if I have to make a Friday evening run up this way.

My sister has a really nifty new Dell that I'm "borrowing"
