trim colors

Decided to go with a green and black for the main colors of the rod. Its a honey colored rod and was wondering what you guys think looks good for a trim color. I like gold but not sure how that will blend in with honey. Maybe silver colored? thanks

I would go with the silver the gold is to close to the honey color blank and will not show up as good.

I*ve been playing around using some of the other metallic colors like the merrick--- aqua- red - blue- pewter- bronze- for trim bands and accents----it all depends on the colors you choose.I did the XRA1083 in a stripped (blue-green)top and (white -and pearl )bottom fish pattern using aleternating Aqua and pearl for the fins with aqua for trim bands on the guide wraps.the fish looks kinda like an angle fish done this way with the big front fins.I agree that the silver stands out more on the honey blanks and am also now doing a honey colored stand-up rod done in all metallic silver-green-aqua-blue- aqua-green-silver done with one 4 thread pass of each chevrons on 4 axis over a non-metallic lime green base wrap.wasnt sure how the lime/green would look but now like it.Did the 1215m honey as a meat stick a couple of years ago with the old style fugi hardaloys with the luminous shock rings and wrapped it in Grey-- yellow--and green to match guides.Used the grey as under wrap and gold in the buttwrap chevrons but didnt use any trim bands on the ends of the grey guide underwraps.I did the guide wraps as a green !/4 inch then an open wrap for 1/16 space for 1/4 then wrapped up onto foot of guide.Trim bands not always nessesary its just personal taste.
