Wading Shoes
Just picked up a pair of stockingfoot Orvis Silver Label breathables for those times when I'm on more rocks than sand.
What is mindboggling is how many wader boots are available (Chota, LL Bean, Orvis, Patagonia, Cabelas).
I have two questions:
When purchasing wading boots for use with stockingfoots, should you buy one size larger or are they cut big?
Many of the boots I looked at have these "Micro Screens" to let water drain out but it looks like sand can work its wasy in there too Are there any without this feature or is not a significant issue?
Thanks!

My LLBean boots are a size larger than I regularly wear, although I wish I had a 1/2 size smaller which they dont make.
My waders have good gravel guards built in, and I've never had any sand issues...I'm sure most guys would say to go with bootfoot if you fish the beach much...

It would be great if they made half sizes.
I do have the boot foots also but when I need flexibility they dont cut it. The orvis gravel guards on the waders I got are built in which is nice, so the top part is sealed from having sand get in through the top.

Get the LLbean studded aqua stealth boots... and your right you have to order 1 size up than what you usually wear. I do have sand problems though and if I had a bit more coin, i'd have a pair of boot foot waders for sandy stuf and stocking foot for the rocks...

I wear ORVIS stockingfoot waders and ORVIS wading boots. I got the boots one size larger and think the fit is fine.

Perfect senario would allow you to try on the wading shoes with your waders on because I have a pair of wading shoes that I probably should have gone up two sizes with!!
Some run big and others run small!

I just got my Fork Henry Fork's from Orvis yesterday...they're all that, can't wait to get out there with them. Before ordering I called Orvis and asked how those size's run on boots, they told me that all sizes are in consideration with wearing a 2mm stocking foot..I asked if they would take a 5mm foot, they suggested to up in a size.

I tried on the Henry Fork shoes at the Orivs store as well. They gave me one size up. They git pretty good, Im just looking to see if I can get one for less money if possible.
I was thinking of ordering a pair online since there is such a selection but not being able to try them on is a disadvantage.
