Question South Shore Cod?

Hoping to get the boat in the water for its maiden 2004 voyage Saturday or Sunday morning. Heard there are schoolies in the tidal rivers so I am not expecting much on the bass front yet. (But if I am wrong about that, any bass info is welcome)

So, has anyone had any luck with inshore cod along the South Shore? Will launch out of Green Harbor, so I have quick access to Farnham Bell and High Pines, but can go north to Scituate and Minots or south to power plant area. Boat is only 18" CC, so Stellwagen is too far.

Not looking to burn any particular cod spots, but would like info on general availability, best depth, bait or jig, etc.

"Time and tides wait for no man", ... and neither do the fish.
