Angry Environmental Police

Weny fishing down in boston harbor last nite, thought I'd see if anything was biting. some bites and couple skates....ewww. was fishin off the pier when our mighty protectors the environmental police show up. now i have nothing against them and i think it's good that they would be out lookin for poachers and ppl takin short fish. but they came along one on land and 2 in a boatboat was drivin right along the pier no more than 20 ft awaydrivin over everyones lines and with certain ppl drivin up right next to the pier foulin up everybody's gear and not caring at all ...so after the boat moves up the pier i put my lines in the water again 15 min. later they are done, the boat drives back gunning his engine, i frantically reel in my lines, then the boat slows in front of me then guns his engine doin doughnuts in the water Needless to say the baitfish were gone. I decided to stick it out see if the fish come back, 20 min later the wonderful environmental police are racin right along the pier goin full throttle, everybody was cursing and trying to get their lines in....fed up i left, i have been skunked last 15 times out drivin to locations all over but last night was by far the worst.
O yeah PS can any one pm on how to get to west wall in RI? tired of getting skunked 15 times is 15 times too many

Those MO-FU'rs did me even worse early last season. Was fishing off the Boulavard in Gloucester, drifting chunks in the fast current by the bridge when I hooked into what felt like a decent fish a good ways out, probably a good 80 yards out. I see the EP boat approaching from a distance and start battling harder but the fish in the current was not giving up easily. As the boat approached, I fought the fish with one hand whilst frantically waving and motioning the EP bastages to beware of my predicament. They could of easily delayed their approach to the bridge or simply steered clear of my line, BUT NO, they came straight at me and cut right through my line, setting free my "who will ever know how big it was" fish. Needless to say, I was extremely agitated by this outright disrespect and had a few choice words fot the green boys as the passed through the canal. They actually yelled back to me that it was their right of ffffing way!! I am surprised I did not get arrested for my reply to that!

Thanx a lot, you've got me all ffffing fired up again and that was a year ago!!!!

I fish Boston harbor as well and for the most part the various harbormasters, Boston Police, State Police, MDC guys and Coast Guard are all right. On the other hand the guys in green are by and far the most obnoxious, egotistical, ballbusting A$$'s I've ever had the missfortune to run into.

thats what happens when a moron gets a badge and becomes the neighborhood cookie cop.no other agency would take them, so the only job they can get with a badge, is to protect fish and birds,,

Believe it or not, I know from first hand experience that it is a heck of a lot harder to get a job as an Environmental Police Officer than other jobs in law enforcement. Very few openings and extremely politically influenced. That's why we call 'em "squirrel cops"

IT SEEMS THAT IF THESE SALT WATER TAFFY'S WERE ACTUALLY CATCHING POACHERS INSTEAD OF SHOWING HOW FAST THEIR COMPANY BOATS CAN GO, WE'D BE A LITTLE LESS CRITICAL OF THEIR "SHORTCOMINGS".
IT'S LIKE THE KIDS WHO GET ASSIGNED AS "HALL MONITERS",
THEY WANT EVERYONE TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO, WHILE THEY MAY NOT ACTUALLY BE DOING ANYTHING.

HOPEFULLY THEY AREN'T ALL LIKE THE CLOWNS MENTION IN THE EARLIER POSTS.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN THE DIRECT LINE OF YOUR CAST WHEN YOUR CASTING A CHUNK OF BAIT AND A NICE SINKER?
"OOPS, I DIDN'T SEE YOU THERE", OR I COULDN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE ROAR OF SOME IDIOTS ENGINE".

LUCKILY, I'VE ONLY HAD MY LINE RUN OVER TWICER, AND ONCE IT WAS A HARBORMASTER WHO DEFINITELY HAD TO CROSS MY LINE TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT, SO I UNDERSTOOD HIS URGENCY. THE OTHER WAS A RECREATIONAL BOOB THAT DIDN'T UNDERSTAND BOATERS RULES FOR OPERATING AROUND INLAND WATERWAYS.

Wow, I am amazed at the behavior of the enviro police up there.

Here in CT, they have always been real professional. Now if you are poaching, they will come down on you of course.

But boat, license and catch checks are always done in a curteous manner. I am really quite shocked to hear about the conduct in the first post.
