Early May Cod FIshing...

Well, I know this is not Striper talk but I got special permision from the webmaster. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for early Cod fishing off of NH or Norhtern MA waters? This is the second season we have been fishing for cod and this is the earliest in the season we have gone out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I would head down to glouster, and ask some of the party boat capts what they suggest.Other than that I have no idea. The glouster fleet of party boats does quite well and should be able to help you out. Also, keep your eye on the new england fisherman magazine. There is always something in the report section relating to cod!! Good luck.

My friends have done pretty well on a boat that goes out of the Merrimack River. They actually have been getting lots of haddock too which surprised me.
