The boy did it to me again
While my son takes a nice little nap in the cabin, I'm chumming, chunking, fixing lines cleaning the deck, you name it.......
Gets up from his nap, I have my back turned doing something and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ goes the reel. He grabs it and pulls up this nice fat fish.
I'm gonna have to start fishing alone....

Copy that. Some folks who know me, know that I am really into getting kids fishing. (like MSBA kids)..
I like to see him catch and keep him interested, but I gotta RIB him too...... I wouldnt be right not to....

Brit gets all the fish on my boat. Once in a while I "hog" one, but I usually hand over the rod for her to battle...except the flyrod which she would have trouble with.
She can handle fish up to that 32", 10-12lb range... bigger than that, she often says, "alright that's enough, you finish 'em off dad"
Not sure how I'll handle things when the twins are old enough... I better be catchin' a heck of alot of fish by then to have enough to go around.
Nice going Van... my dad took me fishin' alot as a kid. Now I take him. You guys will always have that bond.

It's funny... if you hook a fish and let the kid reel it in, it's no big deal, even if it's a big striper... but if you're sitting on the dock and the kid hooks and lands a baby catfish all by himself, he is ecstatic!
