Other than b&t's, do you guys support other local businesses as well? Hardware stores, tire shops, car dealers, grocery stores, clothing, etc. Or do you go for the best price from chains and malls?

I always do unless it's something I just can't find locally which usually ain't much -
Chain stores are a little thin in the charisma department and the savings of a few pennies just isn't worth it to me.

I try to save money whenever I can and I'm able to save money and support our SB sponsors at the same time. Why?
Because these guys have some of the best prices around!
I got my last rod through M&Ds online site Cape Cod Tackle.
Couldn't have gotten a better price anywhere.Same thing with plugs.Look at all the great plug makers here.
As far as supporting local tackle shops the only place I get my reels filled and buy bait for the rare times I fish bait is at Sam's.
Local shops carry stuff specific to the region. You'll never find a
Kastmaster or a Hab's needlefish at Basspro.
As far as shopping at WallyWorld or Benny's goes I do on occasion.Last year I found two Black/Purple Bombers at Benny's,
I wasn't going to pass that up!

I don't buy any fishing stuff online anymore, unless I can score a sweet deal on Ebay
For the most part I try to always support the local store. You will not ever see me in Wall-Mart. Period.

i check the fishing section at wally world every time i go there, just in case. Usually walk out with storm shads and big game, besides that everything else is at the local tackle shops. ITs all aobut the service and knowledge, ya cant find that at wallmart. Im on a serious budget but still find a way to piss away 15 bucks on a plug i MUST have when i walk into a good shop. Being on a budget i am a cheap price shopper when it comes to things not related to fishing. A buddy of mine owns a small convenience store in a really small town. I asked him about wallmart, he says that he loves it and shops there a few times a week. I was suprised becaue he is an old cranky bastard, but knows that people will still come to his store for the convenience, and the service.
