Question Ocean City, MD ?????

I'm going down to OC,MD for the end of July with the girl for a looong weekend. Just surious if anyone on the board has ever been down there or even lives there that might be able to point me in the direction of some decent beachfront to surcast from and some good party boats that are in the area. Thanks in advance.

VERY crowded place in the summer, since it's a popular tourist destination. If you are thinking inshore, your best bet is first light and throw some swimmers (bombers, etc). Beaches are very crowded late at night, sometimes with lots of light.

Might also want to think about offshore (there are lots of charter boats). It's the white marlin capital of the world.

Blue, I fished not in Ocean City but up the short, at Dewey Beach... there's plenty of coastline to fish from but your best bet is to fish at night, as during the day, the beaches all the way from Dewey to Ocean City is packed chockfull.

And also, be prepared, the tackle and bait used to fish down there is slightly different from tose we use up here... Last I used down there was a Mullet Rig. If you're not familiar with that, google it up for more info.

BTW, decent fishing down there!

Ocean City

Bluefish,

Was down there in April, unfortunally before the fish arrived. Parking can be tough in the city itself. Try driving north 30 minutes to the Indian River outlet, plenty of parking. It's like fishing a breachway up here in R.I., strong current.
