Great white off Cohasset?
I've heard from a few people that there was a dead, or injured White shark off Cohasset last week or weekend? From what I heard it was on the radio and the coast guard was watching over the shark?
The reports I've heard are conflicting and I was hoping someone had the facts.
Did anyone else hear of this?

No, a few friends were talking about it down at the loading ramp in Humarock. The details were sketchy and I was hoping somebody else could shed some light.
Just curious, not a big deal.

If you find it, can you fix it and give it directions to the outer beaches for "nourishment"

I found out this morning from very creditable sources in Scituate and Cohasset that there was indeed an injured White shark off the coast of Cohasset and the coast guard was following it. Not sure what happened to it, but the sources saw it first hand.
I also learned that there was a MONSTER White that was seen and filmed out near wildcat the other day. I was talking to a few of the area elders in the local tackle shop this morning and they mentioned this other White shark that was seen. As we were discussing this fish the guy who saw and filmed the fish happened to walk into the shop. He said he thought it was a basker at first, until it came up right behind his boat. He said the sharks eye was as big as his head!

Yes Larry, you are right, I guess he was just lying huh?
Hmmm, sounds like one big white shark conspiracy to me….
Well, ok, I’ll come out; maybe it was ME that was lying, hmmmmm?
But, in the end, who really cares? Because I know I don’t.

Guy at the dock last night reported a large animal washed up on an outer harbor island. 12' long. Coincidence? I bet its the GW.

It is at this point when one may let out a chuckle or a guffaw! (Failing to do so, you may want to check the sense of humor tank!)

Yes "as big as his head" seems a bit off, but that's what I was told first hand from the person who filmed it while I was looking him dead in the eye and I have no reason to doubt him.
BF, I thought boat fish didn't count? Why such and interest and a need to reply? This is the "boat fishing and boaters" forum you know

I thought I told you to CALL me if you had something further to say.
This is getting VERY old, and VERY personal...
And BTW, there is no PM from you.
Why don't we just meet up for a freindly little chat over a cup of tea or something, I would really like to meet you face to face
Have a nice day

Dammed if I know, wasn't my film.
Call Belsans in Scituate, Pete might be able to get a copy.
I hope you get to see the film, it will most likely be the only big fish you get to see this year
This thread is closed in my eyes, no more reponses from me....

Ron Powers http://onthewater.com/fishingforecast.htm
Small boat anglers head east of Stellwagen may soon be echoing the quip of Chief Brody of “Jaws” fame, when after seeing the giant shark he said, “We need a bigger boat”! Not one but two savvy fisherman had experiences with great white sharks the past week. Both occurred while jigging bait for tuna and each resulted in a snatched baitfish, a brief, explosive battle and a humbling result. One salter claimed that his antagonist looked to weigh around a ton with a “little” 10-footer shadowing it. If you work up a sweat this weekend, now might not be the best time to take a dip overboard.
The first shark encounter comes by way of Rick Newcomb of Fore River in Quincy....

My day is complete, I found out who sportsman is Dude, next time you buy someone a beer let them know who you are I can’t believe we were sitting there talking all friendly like at the MSBA meeting and you didn’t have the seeds to identify yourself, even though you knew who I was.
This is water under the dam in my mind, all is forgotten.
Man I love sharks
Your friend Rich
