funny fisherman

I was out on an upper bay beach the other morning and came accross a couple rather intersteing fisherman. These guys just looked like the biggest morons as they were casting. Every cast they looked like a batter at home plate....they dig there feet into the ground and kicked around the sand to get the perfect footing....bring the rod back as if to cast then stop and adjust the feet somemore....I dunno...just struck me as funny! Not to mention they had these like bowling wrist thingy gloves on as to look all profesonal! Just cast your plug for god sake and dont try and cast it accross the bay! and look like a tool in the process! Anyone else got some wierd fisherman stories?

I like the upsidedown back-crankers

spinning rig upsidedown crankin the reel backwards... grabs the rod about a foot from the tip when landing fish.. POW!..

looks at me and says "friggin' stupid rod!" ... storms off witha short...

OH I was smilin' inside, thinkin' his name must be Rod..
but I said, "ouch, bummer dude".... "see yah later"

9 or 10 years ago, camping at the canal. I never fished the ditch, still don't, someday, I'd like to learn it. Anyway, was watching mid-day, while taking a break from riding the bikes, a guy on the other side fishing. My son was laughing, the guy would throw one out, set it between some rocks, then throw another one out.... by that time the current had fouled the other line, heading it over to the other one he had just thrown out..... like I said, I know nothing of fishing the canal, but, I knew enough, to know he knew nothing of it either. The current was running wicked fast. We could see him yelling and cursing, but he kept trying to set up 2 rods with chunks.
We kept watching, even though I had caught my breath by then.
This guy gave it his all for another 25-30 minutes, of cast and tangle, yell and curse. My son was just about peeing his pants from laughing, and I was pretty close myself.... then the finale.... guy got so frustrated, he "cast" both rods right out into the canal, followed by his tackle box!!!!!!!, Stormed up the rocks and took off.... Both my son and I couldn't believe it!, I understood the guys frustration, but could not believe he threw the gear away!

this spring there was a guy down at c-town breachway all the time who weighed in at around 300 lbs.. he wore tight tight shorts that rode halfway up his ass, black leather motorcycle gloves, those skimpy nike water sandals that kids wear at the beach and a tan fishing vest that was 2 sizes too big for him.. the pockets were full of budweiser cans. Granted, he would catch a fish or 2 but when he landed it he woudl rip the hooks out of the fish's mouths instead of sliding them out... god i hated that guy
