2nd Keepah this year with a yellow wire tag!!!!
I caught a 30" Keeper this AM on top of a school of blues with a yellow wire attach on it that says.
532289 RETURN ??TTORAL SOC. HIGHLANDS NJ 07732.
Any idea guys what this 2 letters represent co'z it's not that clear anymore when you read the wire tag attach on it.
Is there a way I can call them about this Striper they are monitoring.

send the tag back the address listed. Also include where and when you caught the fish and its current length and weight. They will send you back a note letting you know where and when the fish was tagged and how big it was when it was tagged.

I caught a tagged cod a few weeks back.
It had a tag id number and a telephone number on it.
I was told by a freind that I should be getting a hat or t/shirt for calling it in.
Anyone know if this is true?

If it's what I think it is you will get a cool hat. If the number you called was in Dartmouth Ma thats the program I'm talking about. It's a part of the "SMAST" tagging program.
The program is being run out of Umass Dartmouth.

I went to the site http://www.littoralsociety.org/catch.htm.
They will just give you a fish history and patch. I thought I'll get a reward or something.
Well I had a nice fight with that Keepah that's a reward for me co'z I've been waiting for this for 2 months.
Blues are crazy this past week they are near the shoreline chasing baitfish I was just lucky they were chasing shad at that time that's why I casted way out I know there's a striper waiting at the back. Then Got' Ya on a cheap rod with a shakespeare 20lb test line.

Send yellow ALS fish tag (it's made of plastic, not wire) with its 6-digit ID number along with species caught (striped bass), fork length of fish (weight of fish if you killed it and weighed the poor bastard) as well as where and when you caught this fish to:
Pam Carlsen, Director, Fish Tagging Program
American Littoral Society
Sandy Hook, NJ 07732
Any questions just ask me or call Pam.
I've been tagging for the ALS for more than 15 years (about 1000 fish) and I've never caught a tagged fish. Consider yourself lucky.

I also caught two tagged fish in one year. Too bad it wasn't during the old Hi Neighbor Bass and Blue Tournament out of Pt. Judith/Galilee. A tagged fish was worth a $1000 clams.
