Sunday fishing report

Hello all,
Too much wind for my flyrod.
Caught a few bass on the east coast between Key West and Bar Harbor Maine. I hope I did not burn a spot for anyone. Maybe I get it now!!!

The river that is narrow is no secret. I have many photos from 1901-05 of my great grandfather fishing those top secret rocks. He wore a tie and jacket while rowing a dory type boat with a rod outfitted with gut line. His dad owned/operated 3 whaling boats in New Bedford. I bet he had some secret spots for those BIG "fish".

I just love bass fishing and enjoy talking about my outings. I will be less specfic about location. The last two spots I mentioned caused a little discomfort.

By the way, last year I killed them on planet earth so after this post I do expect to get some alien complaints.

I think the mention of catching fish at the narrow river by boat caused such a stir because the mouth is about 75 feet wide, so while just mentioning the river, your mentioning a 75 square foot radius.

John R, (the head cheeze here) suggests mentioning very vague areas, like the coast of narragansett, or the upper bay, or perhaps, the south county beaches... The narrow river is a tricky one though because it is such a pinpoint spot. If you have a scanner, i would love to see those photos of your great grandfather. I fish those rocks all the time.

Posting a very fresh report really does impact a spot. Some of us have learned the hardway about this(I did last fall) For instance, as of now, 587 people have read your thread you posted the other day... if 10% of the people decided to go down there and fish the place it would be a zoo.

Its not as if the fish stay in one spot for very long... Fish do swim...

Hmmm........hence the name 'Narrow' no doubt........

Fishing the Narrow River by boat comprises a heck of a lot more than 75 ft. That reference generally encompasses an area a little upriver from the bridge to the mouth, around the rocks and along part of the beach. Just because some crybaby has a favorite rock within that general area is no reason to censor a post.

What I found really rich was editing out reference to Newport Harbor in the same post. Funny though, the mod didn't dare edit Mike's post that gave gps coordinates.

The whole point is that yes it is not a secret spot. Maybe some guys have been fishing it for weeks, with no one else in sight and nothing to show for it. Then all of a sudden game on. Someone posts it on the net these guys go down to fish, and there are so many people there they can't wet a line.
