Just Curious..

I'm trying my hand at painting some plugs for the 1st time and noticed that it seems all of the plugs I've checked out have a splash of red on the "Chin". Just curious as to why this is.

Injured baitfish, a different coler to key on, or some other reason. Or I don't know why, thats the way I was always told to do it.

think blood....think predatory.....red is a color that excites fish into striking....it's also the first to disappear to black in the water.....
