Any Mackerel in Narragansett Bay?

Anyone spotted any mackerel in the ussual areas in the lower bay/harbor yet?? Thanks

Really ??? Last year they were around thick right after turkey day. Blitzing all over newport and some schoolie spots in gansett.

Already all over it, have seen people trying the last few weeks , but none brought over. This time last year id have half a bucket in 10 casts.

Just checked my posts from last season, it was right at this time that they were everywhere. My posts were around the last week nov-beginning of december.

use a sabaki rig and get a diamond jig and cast it and jig them up. u can add some bait strips on each hook

No mackerel , but hooked a 60lb ............................. dumb mutt when i got home. Had the rod hanging, dog must have been sniffing the hook. Walk out to see my dog licking his nose. DUmb bastard got it hooked on the inside of his nostril. I had to pin him down and pull the hook out. Bet he wont sniff my gear anytime soon.
