Like Ron said 800# a day. But that is fishing in STATE waters with your state license. So you really have to pay attention to the chart. This is where us guys in the Scituate/Marshfield area get screwed for 3mi out we are in Fed waters. Once you get up by minot it goes NE to include the B bouy area which is great this time of year.
Now here is the catch. Even if you are fishing under your STATE license in STATE waters the FEDERAL ROLLING CLOSURE AREAS superseed state regs. Hence if you want to go out and jig a box of cod in STATE waters say near the B bouy, to make a buck, which is in Area 2,3 and 5 you cannot do it in the months of April, May, October or November. WHICH SO HAPPENS TO BE SOME OF THE BEST MONTHS FOR SMALL BOATERS
Another disturbing thing is ask 10 Enviromental Cops this question and you'll get 5 different answers. I keep the printout on the boat to show them the regs.
Of course this is how I interpet the regs after making phone calls to the DMF. Even they had to ask a few guys in the office.
Yes it is very confusing at times and no Department comes out and tells you this, you basically have to keep up with it yourself and hope you interpret it the right way.
I got into a heated argument with a drunk Lobsterman a few years back when selling 75 pounds if inshore scrod/cod. He told me that was an illegal sale. Come to find out after making phone calls he was right. He was mad at me for making $70 bucks meanwhile he was selling 12 totes of Lobster...probably worth $3000.
Good luck out there.
