Anybody ever fish a 23' Seapro CC?

i own a 17 ' sea pro that i bought new , its a piece of junk . gel coat crackes appeared in 6 weeks they would not fix they said it is cosmetics . the wiring is sub par even for fresh water , i had to replace the stearn light outlet and the bow light after the first year they had heat shrink connecters on them that were not heat shrunk. the live well overflows into the bilge that did not work . due to the 2 piece construction the boat is next to impossable to work on . i dont even want to get into what you have to do to remove the battery . i am trying to get rid of this thing and its only 2 years old . big dissapointment

I fished on a 25' CC about 4 years ago , it ran fast and reasonably dry, lots of room.
No cracks in the gelcoat like the blue oyster though.

Fish on a 17 or 18 quite a bit. I think its pretty nice, reasonably dry on rough days and decent milage with a Yamaha 4 on the back.
I wonder if blue oyster got a lemon?

It gets alot of compliments from others when they see it go by.

Yeah, I had a Seapro 190CC and traded it in for a new SeaPro 238CC this year. Fantastic boat. Great ride. No stress cracks. I've used it for a lot of off shore and in shore fishing. 75 to 100 mile round trip days were pretty common for me this year. I have a 225 Suzuki 4-stroke on it. let me know any specifics that you are wondering about.

With the 225 on the 23 what is the trolling speed?



rpm for 25kts and est. fuel usage?

With the 225, when I put it in gear it does around 2 knots (can't remember exactly). It's perfect speed for trolling live mackeral!!! Thats all I know. At 25 knots it runs around 4000. Again, this is an estimate. I can't remember exactly. The 4-stroke is fantastic on gas until you start running around 5000 rpm's, then it burns some fuel. If your fishing inshore, fuel is not an issue. On day's that I went off-shore (30 miles plus), I definatley burned some fuel. Maybe around 35 gallons on a 75 mile round trip. I should probably have kept a better record, but in the end I would still go on the long trips.....I had a 190cc with a 115 Suzuki 4-stroke. I could run it all week long on a half a tank. I put around 1100 hours on it in a little over two years without a single issue. But I have to say, I am 100 times happier with the 238. Much better performance, much better construction, and I don't have to "pick my days" to go off-shore.
If your interested, I would be more than willing to take you for a cruise when I launch again in April.

I have a 2004 190cc w/ a 115 Johnson/Suzuki 4 stroke Sea Boss(old Sea Pro pre 2003 hull reputed to originally be a Hydra Sports hull). I put >200 hours on it this year and the boat performed real well. Nice dry design with lots of bow flare. Not a single crack and I gave a good pounding a few times. This boat was a great deal too, 5 star galvy neoprene roller trailer, 115 4 stroke, swim platform, bimini top and bottom paint... $18,200 It doesen't have the finish of a Mako but it is more than adequate and is laid out real nice.

Buy your Sea Pro or Sea Boss boat now with Yamaha or Suzuki power.

The company was just sold to Brunswick and you can bet they will rig them only with Mercury engines on the back.
