additions to Jet Mini Lathe

Got the Jet mini lathe for x-mas. What type of accessories should I get to get started for the lathe that will make life easier? Im talking lathe specific items? Do they make a chuck for drilling thru holes? Stuff like that?

Yup, they have chucks for that lathe. I have the jet mini also, it takes MT2. Couldn't find a chuck locally so I picked one up off of Ebay, ~ $15 + shipping. Try a search for "MT2 lathe chuck", a few should come up.

I also made a disk sander for the lathe with a scrap piece of plywood.

My goal in life is to be the kind of man my dog thinks I am.

Might try Sears for the arbor and chuck too.

Pick up a full face shield and a respirator designed for filtering small dust particles. Your lungs and face will thank you later. You'll need a few turning tools. I use a 3/4 inch gouge and a 1 inch skew for all my plug turning. Sandpaper in various grits too.
