OK, Weekend Plans - Are you fishin or Hibernating???

OK, are ya done for the year or are you still going at it??

Me, I figure I'll keep at it for another couple weeks or until the wife looks ready to have our baby. The docs say T-giving but I think way sooner...

I'm fishing Friday night only. Hope to be near the ocean by 7:30. If the wind holds up , I'll try further east and if no luck there or if the wind dies or changes , I'll head further west. Pretty good odds I'll be at CB at some time Friday night.
Almost every year I fish into the week of Thanksgiving. Can remember some years where the fishing was outstanding till then. Other years it died here early. As long as the water isn't freezing on my tip top , I usually keep plugging away.

Trying VERY hard to be able to "sneak" out either Friday or Saturday night to RI but not looking as well as I had planned... >( It is very frustating when the hubby doesn't want to go with me and feels I should not go alone because some "deranged fisherman" might rape me or something! Part of me understands his concerns and part of me says I have a better chance of getting attacked around my home (very close to Springfield) than I would on a quite beach!!! Since I am blowing off steam about it already I might as well ask...how would you guys feel about it if your wife wanted the same??? and no jokes about going with her...that just is not fair!

In the year 2000 , I don't think a woman should be alone out there. Sad but true I fear. If that couch potato won't go with you , its time to find a new husband Jenn. Don't look at the singles bars though. Try the RISAA (RI Saltwater Anglers association) meetings!
Actually , there are places and times where there are always a crowd of fisherman. You'd be safe with a crowd of fisherman , even if nobody really new you.

Hey Jenn, I have to say that he is not too far off there, as far as letting you go alone. Although Baitcaster never has a problem with me fishing by myself if I want to go. I have some problems with it. A few years ago it would have never bothered me to spend a night on the surf by myself, but times have changed. I have been aproched by some real jerks out there, I don't really call them fishermen, they are more beach party goers with a line in the water, I am talking about the ones that are just out there drinking and druggin, and who knows what else. I actually had a guy once who just wouldn't leave me alone, and was really starting to get me a little un nerved, and I actually ended up picking up my bait knife to give him a little notice to back off. I am no small person by any means, grew up with 4 brothers, and can pretty much handle my own as far as kicking the sh** out of someone. But with my latest health problems, I am definatley not as strong as I used to be. We must all be cautious now a days on the surf, it is not so bad that we have the elements to deal with, but alot of other factors also, and I am not just alking about women either. I don't know if any of you remember the fellow at the canal last year, that was beat up by 3 guys and all of his gear ripped off. You just never know, and is it really worth the chance!!!!!! Not trying to bring you down Jenn, you can make those decisions for yourself, but you must always watch your back out there, you never know whom you may run across in the surf these days.

O.K.....this is tough but...uh...um..errr...I ....uh...guess you are right (don't tell him that though ok??) Wow! the Queen of stubborn admitting she may be wrong??? Heh,Heh...

I almost left too...and I decided to see what everyone had to say before I left....so I stayed home... I DID however pull a guilt trip... POSSIBLY Sat. night we'll go....but I am not setting my hopes to high. I still must admit though, I still feel safer on the beach than in some other situations that I encounter from time to time.....I guess that is the BEST time to say "one never knows"....Thanks Everyone

Hoping IF I DO get out to hit Charlestown or Watch Hill........any one with reports??????

No not hibrinating, too much work to keep up with. Maybe hit the ditch tonight.

Hit the attachment in the lower right hand corner for a view of Friday at dawn.

Yaa, there were a bunch of fish going thru a few weeks ago. Those are most likely the ones that are invading Montauk right now.

Let's see only5 months till the herring run.
