Talking So You Like Snow?

How much you got? Here in Abington we got over 25 inches so far and it is snowing and blowing to beat the band right now....white out conditions that I have not seen since the Blizzard of 78! I got a drift blown half way up my door here. What you guys doing to pass the day? I just filled some weight holes on some plugs and FishChick is making a huge batch of American Chop Suey for the game tonight!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

It's real hard to tell how much here, it's blowing everywhere! I'd like to go out and take the first layer off but it looks pretty futile. Looks to be maybe a foot+. I'll be in the Jake Cave putting on a second color.

It's hard to tell how much with the wind blowing so hard. Looks like a couple feet though.
I got to go out and see what that nasty banging noise is out there.

Lots of shoveling before the Pats this evening.
Here's our driveway, I'm trying the stack cars to lessen the shoveling.

I just went out to let out the year old pup in the yard and I was pretty amazed - I can say without fear of contradiction that I've never seen anything like it here in Newport and I was born and raised here - wind gusts are 50+ - eee cooodeesh.

Tough to say how much is on the ground - it's gotta be in the 18-24" range easy - there's a drift across most of the yard that's maybe 6'....visibility right now is about 100 yards....

Can't really judge it in terms of '78 though - I wasn't here - me and a buddy left for Florida 2 days before it hit and I was in West Palm nursing a sunburn when we got the news

Wish I could say that now

We have over 2' and the worst part is that it isn't supposed to stop until later this afternoon. Here is my wife doing some shoveling until I convinced her to wait it out. The wind is gusting huge.

I'd let you know how much snow we have if I could get out of my back door to see.......

I just put the snow blower away. I had drifts up to four feet. The average is about 24 to 26inchs. The wind was blowing into my driveway so the house in front of mine is bare.

Driveway

Finished the driveway by 0800 this AM and it is over 250' long. I had to get better half to work and it made me get up early. Now I just have to keep up with it with another round of shoveling and snow blowing (no plow) at 1130, 200 and 530. Come game time, I have no intention of picking anything up other than a 12 oz bottle. My beloved Patriots will make everyone forget about this storm as the big storm rolled into Pittsburgh and will roll tonight. Tomorrow I will shovel the boat off, I am sure the drifts are up to the gunwhales. Why do I fish in the winter is beyone me?

No point in snow removal here yet, wind is blowing a Lewinsky right now.

Watching the weather, Cape is gonna bear the brunt of the winds they said, and they are gonna pick up the rest of the day... hard to tell if it's snowin or blowin .... hope the power holds... just heard they closed Rt.6 in Truro and P-town.. saw the live shot from Barnstable harbor, waters comin fast.... huge drifts, nose of my pickup disappeared......... guess I'll have to sty in the cave till 6:30

Just heard there was a 72 MPH gust clocked on Jamestown and one of 85 on Cuttyhunk - dang!

They've closed the Newport Bridge - hell, I've been in favor of that since they built it
