What happened?

Good story, My bro is a Worcester Cop and this guy came into the station yesterday and wanted to put in a complaint on this woman. My bro gets all the guys paperwork and goes to write the complaint. Well he decides to run the guy for the hell of it. It turns out the guy has 3 warrants out for him. So my bro goes over and arrests him. Stupid

No freakin way. That is impossible. What happened exactly. Did they give him a summons for court? How old is your son and in what town did this happen? I just asked my brother and father. Both said under those circumstances that is not possible. The only thing they could think of is if someone reported to the police they saw him take it from the store.

WHAT? he finds a wallet, brings it to the police like you're supposed to do thinking it 's the honest thing to do and they arrest him for larceny?

Dave, I would contact the news and have them do some stories on the news about it, THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS!

Make them clear his record completely.

WTF is going on these days?

I'll probably have to move when I'm done.
Now what do I tell my 2 younger kids?
If you see a guy bleeding on the side of the road to keep walking, or you may get charged with murder????
Doesn't make sence.

Dave, tell us more. Do you know the details? What reason did they give? Did the owner of the wallet accuse him of taking money out of it? Doesn't make any sense is an understatement.

It has nothing to do with me but it pisses me off so much also that I want to call that piolce station and give them a piece of my mind

Ya, sends a good message to your other kids WTF

Did Stop and Shop call the police or something?

Those cops need a reality check, something is seriously wrong here.

The guy called and reported his wallet missing.
He is not even pressing charges, the police are.
The report says $200 missing and some checks.

If the cops can't put 2 and 2 together and figure out that some dishonest person may have found it before your son, and took the $ and checks out first then your son found it, Then what the hell kind of police force are they? Only a moron would turn in a wallet after taking the money Maybe the cops took the money

I would still contact the news

what a crock of bull

How can they even think of charging your son with no proof he took the money

i'm sure that the kid thought that he was doing the right thing - turning in the wallet so the guy could could get back his license, credit cards, etc. sounds like cops are morons. do a good deed and get arrested?

The other thing that p's me off is that they came by my house a few days later to question my son (I wasn't home) and they go rifling thru my papers that were on the table. They were also questioning my daughter who is a minor. Not sure if that's right.

call a lawyer !
If they came in your house and riffled through anything with out a warrant . which is against the law unless the stolen persons ID or 200 and checks were out in the open when they came by to question your son NOT . As far as questioning a minor with out parental permission is also against the law . sounds like your son is being railroaded . they have any witness that saw him take money and checks out of the wallet before he made it to the police station ?

there is something fishy here .

I would call "Help Me Hank" channel 7 news....they will feast on this and they will put a positive spin on it so your kids will realize what they did was right and what the police and others who were involved did was wrong!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I would talk to a lawyer Dave, seems to me like false arrest, and maybe harrasment. I am pretty sure that if they came to see your son at the house, and someone invited them in anything in plain view would be considered a legal search and siezure. I am not a pro so don't go by my word. I would also talk to the guy whose wallet it was, if he is on your side tell him you are calling the news, invite him to the house when the news comes and ask him to speak up fo you.
