Hi Guys,

I've been lurking for a while and I figured it was time to join. Let me tell you a little about myself. I fish out of West Falmouth Harbor on a 23 Regulator called "3 Petits Pecheurs". Parapapam was the old boat's name...

3 Petits Pecheurs means 3 Little Fishermen after my three kids. They are an 8 year old girl and two boys (7 and 6). I very casually fished as a kid growing up in the Falmouth area. In the past couple years my sons have caused me to get "more serious" about my fishing. I think it was triggered by my youngest (the wise a$$) saying "How come we always catch fish when we go with Uncle Tom and we never catch fish with you." Well that got my juices flowing.

Since then I have really enjoyed the learning process that differentiates the very casual guy who throws a line and hope for the best from a more accomplished angler. Both of my sons are really into fishing which really helps. Even though they are very, very young, I don't know too many kids who can spend 12 hours trolling and ask "Can we do this again tomorrow?"

Last year I made a very big mistake and started heading offshore. When the Penn 50 started screaming I don't know who was hooked more thoroughly, the SBFT or me....I do know it cost that fish his life and me many hundred $$$ to get rigged up (though don't tell my wife).

I look forward to learning and sharing here.

Better late than never. This boards members are a fantastic group with a fountain of knowledge. Between everyone here we should be able to steer you in the right direction. Well in the direction of "the uncle" anyway.

Welcome to a great site with great members.

I agree...

There is no shortage of great freshwater fishing holes in Falmouth, unfortunately access is tougher and tougher.

I am pretty much exclusively a saltwater guy....Trolling and spinning gear.... After rigging for tuna, I sure can't afford to get hooked with Fly Gear now...
