plug maintenance 101

Is there any way I can prep the lure before the swelling occurs ?
if it cracks after i use it fishing, whats that mean ?
?

once it's painted and clear coated, I think you abit outta luck unless you strip everything and start over from scratch. meaning take all the hardware /paint etc. off down to the bare wood...then seal and work your way back to a finished product.

BOAT fish do count.
