Question Reds, Snook, Ladyfish, and Sea Trout

Ok guys and gals. This is Mrs. Schoolie Monster and I'm getting ready for my annual trip to Florida for some mighty fine fishing. Last year I caught three different fish before Schoolie Monster pulled ahead and dusted me. Any tips for taking him down this year?

1. Keep telling him that the Denver Broncos Suck

2. Tell him that Bledsoe will be his favorite QB now

3. Tell him to use his FlyRod

4. Tell him that his Teva's laces are untied

5. ...and if all else fails :Push him off the boat

Have a great trip....

Hey Mrs SM, are you coming to the show. I have a few secret weapons I can give you!!! That work really great down there on those little fishies. Maybe you need some special teasers that I know work well down there. Then you can catch 2 to his 1. LMAO!!! Let me know if you are coming, if not email me and I will try and send you a couple, when are you going?

MSBA Show

Fisherwoman,
I might be at the show. We are working on the sitter thing right now. If not, I'll have Greggo pick up the, "weapons" for me.

Have you been fishing much lately?

If she gives them to me, they wouldn't be secret anymore, would they? Unlike Fedex, I couldn't guarantee that they would make their final destination.

FW, I'll work on getting Ms. Schoolie to the show for awhile. And we are headed down to the Indian River on April 4th. We have a place in Melbourne on the beach for a few days and we'll be hittin' the flats on saturday (4/6) with trusty Captain Tod.

Karen, I can give you the formula for beating me. Let me get ahead early, then I lose intensity. Last year with you jumping out to the early lead and with you and Cpt. Tod talkin' smack, I turned it up a notch and unleashed my pin-point casting and my eagle-like eyes and my cat-like reflexes... jeez, I'm making myself sick with this BS.

Wink

Karen, I think you better come to the show so I can sneak you to the dark side and give them to you personally, that way SM won't know what you get, and don't show him till you put one on your rod down on the Indian River, tehe!!!

Schoolie, Your going down Baby!!!!!!!!

Thanks Denis, that's the redfish "capital" according to everyone I've talked to and what I've read. I hope to hear about your trip after we're both back.

My guide fishes up there alot. We're fishing around the Sebastian Inlet area. Originally, we were going to go out a couple times and try the Banana River or Mosquito Lagoon, but we shortened our trip and are gonna just go out once (and spend a couple days on the beach).

Sebastian has a few other options in case the reds aren't happenin'. Snook, big jacks, trout.... and possibly some early runnin' tarpon (though we're a bit early for that). So, for a one shot deal, I like to have alternatives.

I'm pretty new to Florida fishing... this will be my third trip down. I've fallen in love with the flats and backcountry type of fishing. Its beyond cool. Great way to wrap up winter and kick off the season.

Best of luck to ya and I hope we can both post some pics to do some braggin' in a couple weeks

Mrs. Schoolie Monster,

Love that inlet...I've seen BIG schools of reds, snook, and even pompano at the tip of the short wall to the north, while watching a goliath grouper cruise by the rocks and out onto the sand. Some of the most fish-rich waters I've ever had the pleasure to dive in.

Good luck and try snipping the tip of his hooks off...might take a while for him to figure out why he's not hooking up!

Mike
