tuesday, went all over ri looking for the bluefin. finally found them in front of the breakers in south county. landed 4 bluefin and one 12.8 bonito. went out today, thursday saw bonitos and blues working bait. bluefins weren't anywhere to be found. many are mistaking bonitos for bluefins. the bonitos were all over where we been catching the bluefins. please someone prove me wrong, i don't want to burn all that gas running to mud hole.

Saucy - How did you make out at the AB? I was going to make a Tuna run here this morning but backed out when I found the inlet a little rough. I stayed inshore and loaded up on Spanish Macks and small Bluefish....

Bassthumb,
I think that is for charter boats/ headboats only (not angling). check the following:
http://www.nmfspermits.com/other/Sep...ion_notice.pdf
(IMO the way they handle this is poor)

yeah, that was a strange week, killed the bass for two nites and the third nite almost killed us coming home. i guess i fell asleep at the wheel.hey, there's bass right outside your door today, but u have to get some "skippies". they were stacked on the slope of my fluke hill, the one i got the 10 #fluke on. the wind came up and destroyed our drift. i might go out tomorrow with the wife???? any tuna news heard they were up north. maybe trailering up north for a run. glen wants to wait until they swing back this way and we can chase them all the way out to mud hole.

I was thinking catching Skippies in the morning ,throwing them in the bait tank l //Then running down river tomorrow for the drop ///& live line them // but if you telling me the bass are closer //@ 3.11 a gallon /I can handle fishing near home // call me at home tomorrow when ya get a minute between eggs //
I don,t think they will come back down // should see more albie,s & bones /////

bassthumb- I'm no longer living in RI so to answer your question I don't think there are any Spanish Macks along the RI inshore coastline but I think they may be caught occasionally further out. Don't fret about it as the Spanish Macks we are catching here are smaller 3-6 lb fish and although fun on light tackle I would much rather be catching your Bass, Albies, and Bonito. Now if December would hurry up and get here I will be happy.....
