redgill problem
I started using redgills this year and keep having the same problem. I keep losing my tails. I know what you're thinking, bluefish, but...Im am 99.99% sure there were no blues around. This has happend after a few casts and sometimes after a few trips. anyone else experience this?

Happened to me on a few occasions. Just the paddle on the end of the tail that gives it action seems to come off. I also have not been able to blame it on blues.

Try not bringing the shank so far down the body before exiting. Use a shorter shank hook and exit at least 1/2 inch to 3/4 in front of the place it goes to the skinny flat tail.

I could have sworn that not too long ago, there was a thread discussing this same problem. I thought someone said it was the lure itself. Something to do with the mold being broken and replaced so the tails were actually molded seperately??
MikeCC know about this? Maybe he could shed some light on this one!

Bob, I thought that was the old Storm lures, when they were first introduced

Only problem I have seen is the hook going thru the tail during a cast.

My redgills get curly after a few casts from the hook going up the body, but I've never lost one, or even half of one, short of to the people I fish with. I've been using the same redgill since I first bought them last season. Maybe I got a good batch? The superman redgills?

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working. ...Wait a minute, my work IS fishing. Sweet.
