I just heard on CNN that the average profit made by all the oil companies during the Katrina mess earlier this month was .99 cent per gallon...PROFIT!!!!

Where the hell are the guys we elected to Congress and the Senate? Making a buck a gallon PROFIT is totally outrageous. THIS IS OUR MONEY!!!!

No boat, back in the suds.

Angry to continue this thread->

as its not even close to being over....

price gouging during disasters is just plain wrong....and should be illegal....

and did you hear the bull crap the oil exec said....

he says: the reason our profits were so high is because of how large this industry is.... PFFFFFFTTTT ! wanna see how large my fist is....
you friggan thief.....whammo .... right to the jaw....

and another one flatly refused to be sworn in giving testimony saying that it was completely out of order...
and it's not a free market system when disasters strike because thats not business as usual circumstances...at all...

and now they're predicting that the heating oil and gas is still gonna go thru the roof this winter.....

(as i put up my storm windows and wash them to let the most sunshine in)

Yet on another note the AP reports that Mobil/Exxon is biulding two brand new refineries.
BUILT ENTIRELY OUT OF TWENTY DOLLAR BILLS !!!!!!!!

~..~..~.. ><((((º>
Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

My understanding is that these refineries are being paid for by the Saudis and built ih Saudi.I could be completely wrong but I do remember hearing a news report back in the spring about how it would be profitable for the oil companies to refine oil there in Saudi instead of here in the States.
