Penn Beachmaster #300 is now apart..

So now I'm not sure how to put it together. There is a small 3/4 inch strip of metal that is used as a spring to apply pressure on the antireverse dog but I can not figure out how this thing goes in there. I tried to get a schematic but this reel is old and I can't find one even close to it.
Any suggestions?

I don't have a suggestion, but you definitely have my sympathy.

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working. ...Wait a minute, my work IS fishing. Sweet.

good luck

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day,
And when it comes to my last cast, I most humbly pray,
When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged, as big enough to keep.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunatlely I cleaned every single last part with a q-tip and lighter fluid so there are no "shiny points of contact". Actually all the parts shine now (Boy I must have been bored that Saturday).
The Beachmaster #300 doesn't appear on that Penn List. I may go through it to find something similar. Maybe I'll call Penn (or Bucko's) to see if they can FAX me one.
I learned 2 things from this:
1-Always buy reels in Pairs
2-Lighter fluid is a really good cleaner; leaves almost no residue. Maybe a very slightly oily finish

Take an empty Cool-Whip or Tupperware container, load the reel and all the loose parts in, close the lid tightly and take it to someone who can do Penn repairs. You won't be the first on who brought in a Squidder, Surfmaster, or Beachmaster-in-a-box.

Penn dog springs are great for acquiring colorful additions to one's vocabulary
