It is official site policy here at S-B that we do not allow spot burning. Until that policy is changed by John , I will dump anything like your last thread.

It's that simple. If and when the site policy changes (up to John) , I'll leave the stuff alone.

It takes some work to do up the graphics etc but it takes 10 seconds for me to hit a button and enforce the site policy.

I hope this is clear. We are protecting shoreline access and that's something I will do with enthusiasm.

Thanks Saltheart. That was an appalling post that could have developed into an absolute war...as some of the follow-up post indicated.

No boat, back in the suds.

Saltheart,

Sorry I didn't get the chance to defuse the situation by pointing out that each of those spots were totally arbitrary and represented where a loran line intersected the shoreline.

I guess I wasn't fast enough with my follow up post -- boy you do have a fast trigger finger.

I just wanted people to realize how over the top this spot burning issue has become.

The best way to protect something you care about is to get involved. There is strength in numbers and if we don't start working together to protect sensitive areas from the inevitable increase in pressure, we are all going to lose out.

People can't go around beating on their chests and saying, "Stay away, this is our spot." These spots belong to everyone. What we need to do is make sure that these areas are fished with respect for the nearby landowners, with respect for fellow anglers, and that they are left cleaner then when we arrived.

Mike

Mike
i agree with a lot of what you said, but why accelerate the "inevitable increase in pressure"? it seems like helping to build the obstacle that we have to overcome.
