Duxbury beach

Anyone fish Duxbury beach? I noticed that they offer ORV permits, and was wondering if it was worth it. The permit is very expensive so just wondering if it's worth the money (it's much closer to Boston than my normal cape spots, so if it's a fishy enough place I might bite the bullet). Thanks in advance for any insights.

I fish it a fair amount, but don't have the permit. I just fish right out front across from the bridge, and do okay. Have heard some great things about Gurnet, but at $200 a season, I just don't get there often enough to spring for it....(well, I do, but the wife wouldn't let me have 'her" truck often enough to make it worth it......)

One nice thing about the area, you have the option of ocean front or fishing the bay, which can also give up some nice fish.

If you want more details or secrets, you're gonna have to PM me.....

I got my non-resident sticker this year. I did the MBBA cleanup earlier this month and rode the beach for the first time in 20 years. Looks good although the beach really is not that long. It must be a zoo during the summer. Fished it a couple of weeks ago for a 1/2 hr, no hits.
Theres gotta be fish there during the summer

Duxbury Beach

I live in Plymouth (17 years) and travel to Saquish/Gurnet to fish mostly in fall. Never had much luck from the beach (bay or ocean) during spring or summer. Beautiful place though if you want to bring the family for a day at the water.

Try Scituate at the Lighthouse. Free parking and decent fishing from the jetties.

Long Beach in Plymouth is another nice spot. I think its five bucks to park from 0800 to 1600. Free after that. I've taken many nice fish here. During the day walk down the beach away from the crowd. Try sea clams. You won't be disappointed.

Hey Bloo! Fishing the Cape all day Friday and Saturday

The Duxbury thing is for later in the season for quick fishing runs during the week. They charge way too much though. Thanks Steve for all the info!!

Bloo, I sent you a PM.
