observation.
Be careful, it's 'primal' out there; decent swells on the beach in Mtk, and champagne water....

Bryan, why the ''s around primal? Meaning of first importance I wouldn't think it would require emphasis...

Al

Not to be critical in any way, but if memory serves me right he was fishing right after the storm had passed and the water was still churning up good. Down there its a pretty big mess for about 3 days following a good NE blow. Just as the storm is hitting and just after are the good times down there. Not so sure that is as true up here with NE storms, but I would like to hear what everybody has to say. Probably very spot specific, but don't start with that stuff again.

If it looks to gnarley out there, I'll just go up to the point and take some pictures..Should be fun to watch anyway. After that I'm gonna try some protected spots up in the west passage.. I was seein if any of you guys are thinking about goin out.

rphud, you're probably right about the timing of Al's fish. It makes sense..
I just read basic info that she was caught during a Nor Easter.

I have had a few good outings fishing right before a NE Blow around Hullm, but that was a few times out of many. when I left the M<A DM<F hearings in gloucester last night I had the intention of fishing just before the storm, started but when I got back hom,e at 11pm, the seas were already built up real good and at low tide I would have had to get too ffar out in the dangerous water to m,ake it worth going...Wed AM might be nice with dim, inishing winds and just post storm

This is the kind of weather that my aluminum or stainless needles should be good in but you won't see me out there. P.

Thanks for the link. I did know that story but not in such detail or enough to recognize "Al" but now I do.

I'm also intrigued by the story of "73 pounds, a monster striper caught by Anton Stetzko on Nauset Beach, Massachusetts back on November 3, 1981"

Now that gives me motivation to continue fishing in the days of November.

From what I've read here in the very short time I've been a member, this fish should be disqualified from world record status. No fancy waders or splash top, no wader belt, no 300 dollar rod or 500 dollar reel, and to top it all off: white boots.

Well I had fun fishing from 6 till 10:00. I threw a Kastmaster right into the wind and caught a 3 lb. hunk of weed and many smaller 1 lbers.

I went out to the farthest East I could go (where I live thats 3 miles off of the mainland) and watched how far the rouge waves made it up on the rocks. 20 - 25 foot seas wind gusts up to 35. I fired off a couple of casts & it felt great. Ended up chunking in the lee just to round it out. I got skunked but had a great time. Living on Bostons North Shore who knows when I will catch another Bass.

Big fish out of this one too!

I saw that RI had 2 big 50 pounders landed close to shore during this last Nor easter as well, those big fish love the low pressure and churned up surf!!
