Cusk in a striper

I cleaned a bass this morning and found what appeared to be two 3" or so cusk (or possible wolf fish, they were pretty well digested but the body profile and tail were still identifiable) along with a pretty large lobster. Just curious if either of these fish spend their juvenile stages in shallowrt water, I think of them a deep water ground fish but am no expert, or if I'm confusing the baitfish with something else. I know its tough to give any feedback w/o pictures but the ones I took did not come out. Any info you guys can provide would be appreciated. Thanks. By the way, the fish was caught on BI if that's any help.

With the lack of bait around I guess they will eat anything they can to survive

if its not a cusk, its probally a conger.

ive caught conger while fishing for cod from the surf around this time of yeah, basically the same thing as a cusk except has bigger teeth.

live to fish. fish to live. rod tips high.

I caught a nice bass in the canal with too well digested 6-8" cusk & one eel almost liquified.I think bass will eat just about any thing it can get it's lips on
Nice going out on the block!I wish I made it out there.
