Its just very hard to get used to 'Yota and stock cars being mentioned in the same sentence.I miss the days of all of the American car makers were in Winston Cup.

Toyota has been good for the Truck series because they've brought in new energy and made the existing manufacturer's step up their games and they may do the same for the cup series. It will be interesting to see what owners make the move. Bill Davis is probably a given but the others could be interesting. Personally I don't see any of the big teams leaving Chevy or Ford but I could see and Everham or Penske make the move from Dodge to Toyota, especially with the recent aero issues with the dodge front end. Maybe some smaller teams like Cal Wells would make the move to Toyota if they promise more factory support.

Clogston brings up some very interesting issues.
Toyota will be putting large amounts of money on the table to get teams to make the switch.Don't be surprised to see teams like Petty
Enterprises make the switch .You'll more than certainly see guys like Shrader or Nemechek in a Toyota for '07 too.

The '07 Camry meets the requirements. Some folks had the same reaction when Ford introduced the 4dr Taurus.Speaking of Ford remember they're switching to the Fusion this year..........not much American about that car.

Well it looks like the first official drivers/teams have announced they're switching.
Mikey Waltrip is forming a new team Michael Waltrip Racing.Looks like he and current team mate Dave Blaney will make up the new two car team. Can't wait to see who else.

i saw some stuff on TV saying that the pickup trucks popularity was due to the disaperence of the "muscle cars" of the 70's so the auto makers are bringing them back.....and we'll be able to drag race for pink slips again...

I think that nascar has and is doing alot of things to make the sport worse but I don't think that allowing Toyota in is one of them. Also, alot of their problems, or at least what I think are their problems, aren't really their fault but are a result of the sport's total reliance on sponsors.

Just proves that anybody will do anything for money. The night races are good, I enjoy those, so I can go fishing and not miss a race.
How many races are we up to?
It takes 8 million just to get to the track and have a chance of getting in the race every weekend. Roush has what a 90 million program for Nextel? It's unreal the amount of money, it's almost as bad if not worse then pro Football. The sponsors drive it all.

I like the night races too but I've had the opposite experience when it came to fishing. I missed the end of most of the night races last year because I was out in the surf.
Love Nascar but fishing takes priority.

Racing ALWAYS comes first. There are six OTHER nights to fish.
That being said Nascar is ruining the "fun" of the night race. There are just way to many now.The night race was a special occasion because of
its rarity. It really wasn't all that long ago when the 600 and Bristol were the only night races and then a few years later the 400 in Daytona. It now is getting to the point if a track hosts two races one of them ends up being a night race.

Haven't missed a race since the first flag to flag in '79.
Man I've been a witness to it all.

Now, what I would really like is Race Night at a R/C nascar track. I haven't put together a nitro r/c nascar car. I think it would be awesome. Nobody does that around here.
F1 kills me after 50 laps I am toasted, but good for the wrists!!

With only race at the Glen and Sonoma you're not likely to see a night race. But never say never and you damn know who to look for to win it!

I don't think you'll see any of the German car makers involved in Nascar.
They just assume its a CAVEMAN sport.
