abu--upgrades

I have two older abu reels.

1. 7000-old red

2. 7000 c--black

does anyone know of any up grades for these reels, to make these hum, like the line has been shot out of a canon.

Steve - couple things you can do, first off for casting better, you can get Abec7 bearings to replace the bushings on the reel. That will speed up the reel a bit (CapeCodTackle.com & Weekapaug.com both have them I think). I think there is also some upgrades that can be done to the levelwind but I'm not sure if that applies to the 7000 size reels...

And using rocket fuel oil or similar to oil/lube reel. There are three levels from fast to tournament but you only need the fast for fishing IMO...
