Boston Harbor Bass!!!
Went out on the harbor on Sunday, a friend of ours caught a 30 lb bass, also we caught a 25 lber, a 20 lber and a 12 lber. We headed up into one of the rivers after that and hammered the bass on top water, it was a blast.
Monday was nothing but awesome to say the least, it was alot calmer than Sunday, we made our way out at 1st light, jigged up some live macs and headed outside the harbor. just about 7 am, all hell broke loose. One of the biggest flocks of birds working the water I have ever seen. There was a huge school of fish out there just busting the bait and crashing all over the surface. The fish were up for a good 6-7 solid hours, even thru slack tide. Caught well over 90 keeper bass that day between 28 & 40 inches, it was unbelievable. We caught them on everything, you really couldn't go wrong!!!!
It was my understanding that it was on again yesterday so get out there.

I'm happy for you FW, you got quite a workout. I like that kind of tired. I wish those kind of things would happen where I fish when I am there. So now I know where all the bass went

F/W good for you and B/C
Its sure not like that in Ri any more, the last few years really have seen a decrease in the bay, I know guys are gonna say different, but except buckie fishing, and now with a few pogies around[my friend did real well this morning] its not the same there just isn,t as much bait or fish, yea ,there are fish at Block and some scattered around the south shore If you want to troll you can drag up fish ,but with 42 years on the water tooooo many commercial fishing thats not really fishing, I/m fishing steady to catch the few I.m getting ,fishing the way i enjoy ----------up in the skinny water or in the rocks on shore
But im glad for you all from the cape ---- north
E N J O Y
hope to see you before the seasons over
PS mine ends early////////////////////

Tatoo, bristol harbor, big set made yesterday in the middle off potters cove, mouth of the warren river, Providence river-----thats where my friend got his but I don,t know if they are up close to shore where you can get them ,, a few years ago they stayed right at Port Edgewood between the slips and the pilings --- for weeks and the fish were their to,being caught from boat and shore
flat overcast day like today is great for finding them and then going fishing
the pogy boat will give bait to guys especially diggers
but we have enough thoughtfulness to pay them in some way ,money, quahogs, or if we are out just looking for the boat the we bring them iced beer
Its too bad I don,t have enough time to chase pogies and then go where their are a few market fish ,but this tug boat is just to slow for that kind of distance running, it was fine when the big fish were within a mile of the pogies Thats not likely anymore/////////////////
Good luck, I;ll pm you if I hear or see them being caught from shore ------------------------------ NOT THIS WEEKEND

It's looking more likely that I'm going to have to blow off the cuttyhunk trip, because of some things I have to address on Saturday....but that leaves Sunday. I hope this raw NE wind turns around by then, but the marine forecast and the one at noon didn't look all that promissing. That's quite a day, don't think I've had one close for well over a decade, at least on large fish, I'm happy for you. How's the shoulder , bet it's junk by now, but oh it hurts sooooo good.

Forget girls day, how about "grew up in the sticks in PA" day. That's probably a pretty short list, but it includes "me"
Can't wait to get the heck outta here.. tick tock tick tock.

Fisherwoman!
Glad to hear that you killed 'em. I have never seen birds working for more than two hours!
What type of guide services do you offer? Please email me at jgus@attbi.com with any info.
Thanks

Gus check your email!!!
GS check your email!!!
SB, most of the bait they were pushing and feeding on the other day, were horse mac's and herring. The was a tremendous amount of bait out there, which is nice to see for a change and is why we have gotten those fish in the Harbor.
alot of nice fatties out there!!! and covered big time with sea lice.
Oh SPecialist, I guess we should have just taken you and thrown you in the boat with us the other day when we saw you at 7/11.

Tough day on the harbor today... very cold for June.
Got a couple early off the airport including a fresh 33" covered with sea lice, but did a whole lot of searching. Went outside from Graves out, then back in through Hull Gut with nothing happening but some decent size swells.
Got some fish up one of the rivers, then finally found a nice school off Jacknife right at the top of the tide. Had a nice flurry of solid schoolies till we lost our tide.
A couple dozen fish between my dad and I. Slow and cold, but we ended the day with some sweet action.

Gald you got into a few Schoolie Monster, sounds like the next day or so could be a little rough on the outside, hopefully we will get out a little this afternoon or Sunday. Time will tell.
