narrow course, very challenging to get a big car around it.

Should be the first good race of the year.

silly dream about exciting nascar races

i had a dream last night there were cup cars racing around a small oval track that turned into a road course. there were a bunch of hay bails all over the place with farm animals being herded by dudes not speaking english.

yeah, looking forward to the race in mexico.

AIN'T IT THE TRUTH!

Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN
JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot(MADE IN CHINA)was perking, he
shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG).He put on a dress
shirt(MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans(MADE IN SINGAPORE)and tennis
shoes(MADE IN KOREA).After cooking his breakfast in his new electric
skillet(MADE IN INDIA)he sat down with his calculator(MADE IN MEXICO)
to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch(MADE IN
TAIWAN)to the radio(MADE IN INDIA)he got in his car(MADE IN GERMANY)
filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a
good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and
fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia), Joe decided to
relax for a while. He put on his sandals(MADE IN BRAZIL)poured himself
a glass of wine(MADE IN FRANCE)and turned on his TV(MADE IN
INDONESIA),and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job
in.AMERICA.....

The Toyota thing is gonna be real interesting next year. They may be good in Busch were, like the trucks, throwing money in can really make a big difference. But in Cup everyone good already has money and unless they can pull a big team (and no, Micheal Waltrip Motorsports and Robbie Gordan Motorsports won't cut it) over I don't think they will be successful. If I were in charge over at Toyota, I'd be praying every night that dodge can't get they're issues figured out so that I have a shot at getting a Penske or Gnassi to switch to toyota. The last few years have shown that its all about the wealthy multicar teams.

I too hate to see Nascar go in this direction.I gotta say though it was a good race last year and I'll watch it. MLB, NFL, NHL all have teams based in Canada but people don't really even notice because Canada is more like America Lite.I agree that the cars need to remain of American origin and so should the racing. One of the main reasons Nascar decided to do this is because folks down there love it and there are some great Mexican/Hispanic drivers.

What Nascar needs to do is stop building all these generic 1.5 mile tracks. We already had good tracks of that size in Atlanta and Charlotte.
They shoulda stopped that trend after Texas.Nascar needs to bring its focus back to quality racing. If they don't they will start to see more empty seats in the stands.

I did not watch the race but loved it years ago when the Circle track boys ran a road course - THAT is racing. Don't get me wrong, 160+ on a left is nice but 180 on a straightaway ending with a 45mph hairpin is the cat's nuts...

The Cup guys have been racing at Sears Point in Sonoma Ca and Watkins Glen in NY for quite a few years.I love watching the road course races too.
