Jerry Sylvester's Jointed Plug.. 7" long weighs ,, 2.2 ounces ,,humungus 5/0 hooks,, I like that ... Feels to heavy to be top water I think its going to run deep .. I made the yellow one out of hard maple .. plan on trying birch and ayc next .. Black one is real ... Thanks VB..

No striper alive has ever seen one of those. I think it will be good. The weight sounds right as well. I've an old add for the same plug that claims it weighed 2.5 oz. Nice stuff.

nice plug. i made a couple a while back, weighed with 1 oz in the front and one in the back, floats then dives deep with a real sexy wiggling action. How is the real one weighted?

Nothing... original not weighted at all . I hydro orientated mine and the 5/0 hooks are good ballast too . Real one feels like hardwood . Maybe someone will tell us more .. Adam R ,Flap,Capesams,Vineyardblues, Knumbskull...
Good info above tells us it was suppose to weigh 2.5 , The real one above weighs in at 2.2 on the digital scale . Mine weighs 2.8 using hard maple . Thats why I was going to try some other woods , to lighten up a little . I love the fact the plug is so plain and simple,,nothing fancy , I bet its sick in the water..
