Angry Fuel Prices

Look to suck for this summer. It is making an offshore run or a distant trip of anykind not worth it.

Time to drill in Alaska and stop this gouging.

Jim - you are a helluva guy and I respect the hell out of you but didn't you say last year to buy stock in the Oil Companies if you don't like the price of fuel? Sorry... No, I agree with you. Add the 25% MVY surcharge and you're looking at 5 per gallon...

Alaska aint going to save us, especially as it would just put ths oil on the open market at whatever rate they could seel it for. If it went to local consumption and reduce outside dependancy, maybe that would be different...

Think you can rig a mast on your console?

No I have not invested directly in oil co's but that could be an interesting hedge against the cost of fuel. All you need is the cash. But if I had that kind of serious cash I would have a much bigger fuel problem because I would own a killer sportsfishermen.

(That said, I have done well in russian funds that invest in mostly oil in the last decade though, (TRF and LETRX) But I am not going to sell them to buy gas at the pump.)

billions of dollars

that are being spent in other countries could be spent in AMERICA
to develope a less foriegn dependant fuel supply. Hopefully the carbon nano tube technologies will someday make cars so light yet ten times stronger than their steel framed counter part that it will take much less energy to propell them forward and they'll have the added structural interigty to protect the occupants. If the government doesnt make some quick changes we are headed for an energy shortage catastrophy beyond anyone's comprehension.
Just imagine a society
with nothing but quiet pollution free electric vehicles. Oil should be only used as a lubricant .

It will take 10+ years to get production up in ANWR (which I hope never happens) and also the projected supplies won't even last a year.

Please rethink what you're saying.

All I can say is let's team up and take turns to get off shore. 2 and 3 splitting the fuel is a heck of a lot better than footing the bill alone....

I'm always willing to team up! Who knows, maybe the higher fuel prices will lead to less competition, and more fish! Wishful thinking likely.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - The government said Tuesday that the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline will average $2.62 this summer, up 25 cents from last summer's $2.37 average.

The Energy Information Administration also said prices for the whole of 2006 are expected to average $2.50 per gallon for regular, and $2.40 a gallon for regular in 2007.

Vectorfisher, what happened to your HS? PM me your contact info. I'll definately keep you on the short list.

No need to give away your secret spots Jim. We already know where they'll be ;-) Besides, where we go is between theguys on the boat, the fish we catch, and any satellites that might be tuned in on us. But I doubt any spot burners have satellite access ;-)
