Water Temps Around PJ

Was trolling tonight around PJ and was rocking and rolling with the waves. Caught nothing, but had a question for you's PJ fisherman.....

Were my eyes deceiving me, or did my water temp gauge read 72 degrees inside the wall, and 71 degress over at the deep hole?

My gauge is usually very accurate, but that seems awefully warm....usually run into 70 degrees + out at the gulf stream.

Hi Saucey,
I think your gauge may have been acting up. I was out at PJ Sat evening and it was 56-60^, I think you might find the 70^ temps in the back of PJ pond though.

Sounds like the fishing is still slow arounf the Point ha, I won't be getting out until Thurs morning and I am going to take a shot at BI's SW corner if the weather allows.

You might want to try in deeper water outside of the center wall of PJ. When I came in this past Sat night from BI's north rip about 11:00pm I was about a 1/4 mile off the center wall in 50-60' of water, the fish were stacked up out there, but I was out of herring and eels.....I have a hunch the fish are holding deep now......

think you gauge is pretty close fished the pond for the last two weeks water temp is way up,back of east pond( boat ramp) is 79-80, main part of pjp is 76-77 so the inside of the wall could be mid-70.

all you boaters that venture up the pond remember all the south kingston side of the pond is now a no wake zone, from snug harbor to the islands near camp fuller, they will let you run from fuller to the narrows.

Charlestown Pond same thing - 77 degrees near the Grean Hill bribde and 67 degrees in the Breachway. Not seeing as many bass in the channels with the high temps. Bait is starting to build up in the Pond though.

It is possible that the temps were near 70, here is an image of yesterdays water temps. The greens to yellow hues indicate high 60 to low 70 degree water temps.
