Change my underwear and keep fishing

Hard to say, but I think that assuming I was keeping the first, the second would probably swim free....
definetly not sell it though....

Back to Back 50's???

I couldn't get Back to Back 50's at an AARP convention w/ a Pocketful of Viagra....

In all Seriousness the second one would live another day...no need to keep her...

release em both, honestly ( assuming the fight didn't wreck em). Then by some extra warm clothes .

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

wow, this is a tough one, on the one hand one 50 is enough, but having two would be pretty damn cool too. I guess I would just take a bunch of pics of the second one and let it go.

Keep both. Get both officially weighed, sell if legal to do so, or mount one if the fish is so big I may never get one bigger. My feeling is a 50 is a really old fish and close to the end of its life.Keeping one won't affect the population one bit. On the other hand, releasing one that big is cool too, just sharing what I would probably do if given the chance. You know me, trust but verify when someone claims to catch a so called "50".

Now to John's point if it's a 60 then that's a different story. i know a guy on The Block who caught a 64 about 20 years ago and.....QUIT!

So if I caught a 60 I might hang it up and hit golf balls.

No boat, back in the suds.

Id keep em and set up a one day fish and chips stand on thames street in newport.

seriously, i would keep the 1st one and release the 2nd, unless it was over 78 lbs.. no need to kill 2 50's

They both swim. The quality of the fillets is lousy and I will not kill any animal I do not plan to eat. Buy a fiberglass replica and forgo the skin mount.

If I was ever that lucky they'd swim for sure, A picture lasts a lifetime. I love the feeling I get when I release a nice fish to fight another day.

I'd release the first assuming it was ok, to swim away. (always grew up being told that was the RULE )

The second I'd be on the fence about, but.... That's a bridge I'll burn when I get to it.

I'm out for an 82 ( I blame someone on this board for this), so 50 is like not all there for me.. 50 would be like getting a value meal and they only fill your fries halfway... But then again the size dont matter much to me as long as they have stripes

Domination takes full concentration..

If they were in good shape... let em go. I PRAY that if it happened I'd at least have a witness. Then make an appt w/a plastic surgeon to get the permanent smile removed from my face.

If I do the Striper Cup.........keep both.

Karma should still be ok since I`ve kept one bass in 8 years salt fishing for myself and given away a few to fellow fishers who upon seeing I had a keeper asked if they could have it.

Good health and family

I don't know - I could easily make 10K from the pictures in cash and prizes.

Its a lot like being faithful to your wife - its a lot easier when women don't give you the time of day.

Came close in 87 -about 16 hours or so apart. First one went back - second one would have went back except it had a treble buried in its gills.
Don't keep any big girls anymore unless they would break my personal best - and even then they'd probably go back. Can't justify it.
If I keep any bass nowadays its usually something between 12-18 lbs - plenty to eat.

If it were during comm season I would sell them, then while at the market buy a bunch of King Crab. If it's not during comm season, probably keep them anyway.

You guys must be some serious highliners. I'd never catch back to back 50s because I'd be hauling ass back to the truck with the first one.

Well, I'd hang 'em both be a pretty cool mount, maybe have Nebe make me a couple glass squids to go with it, you know a chase scene. To each is own, if you already caught yours then you had the chance to feel the excitement and the glow that comes with it. Kinda like two hot blondes at once ( I imagine). If you haven't then I don't begrudge anyone for doing it. I cannot be holier than thou on this, for some reason I feel no remorse when a big fish hits the box, maybe cause it is still in my blood that selling or keeping what is legally yours to do is okay. I had two fish on a darter back in November 1990 at Old Harbor in Sandwich where the first one that weighed 44 lbs, was gonna be kept for winter chow and two casts later beached a 53 inch long fish. I swore it was over fifty and the other was dead but a fifty is a fifty so I kept it too. Problems was it only weighed 46 and change.
I have no passion for the "50" thing anymore, sh&t, I am just happy to catch nowadays, if it happens it happens, if it don't it don't. I ain't losing anymore sleep on it. It's just consistently catching that counts to me, anyone who can do that these days is a good fisherman in my eyes no matter if they ain't fifty's.

Why even try.........

Cool

Thought about it many times, and would hope i would be able to release them. Second would be a defenite release, first would depend on the moment.

Prolly just take a pic of the 3.5oz black and purple Habs Needle hangin out their jaws, and win the 2006 Habs contest.
