Any feedback on this reel, the one with the levelwind. Customer looking to team it with 10 ft 1201m lamiglass tossing large plugs.

I have a AG 7000CL which is the same retrieve speed as the reel you mention. I find it barely fast enough for plugging (but okay) but it is a great bait fishing reel. Almost has a high enough retreive speed to get the fish landed before a seal takes it.
I prefer spinning for plugs.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Nice reel. After adjsuting the mag control where you like it , tape it down with black tape. If it slides forward accidently (prone to do that) you'll loose the plug on the next cast when it blows up.

I love both of mine. They are great plugging reels. The retrieve is fine for plugging. If you want a faster retrieve, you can always replace the gear but it is not necessary. I recommend the power handle though.

Sounds like it's the thing to do for him, matches the slow retrieve he wants for larger plugs. AOK on the power handle too, the non-level wind has the power handle, this one doesn't, go figure.

The BG power handel fits any 6500 size reel including the CS Mag.. costs about $10 to replace the paddle style with the power handle.
