Question Point Judith Pond

During mid-August we will be vacationing in the Wakefield/Pt. Judith area. I will have my 14' aluminum boat with me.
Is there any decent fishing within the interior of the pond? I do not like to get too close to the breachway in my small craft due to the heavy traffic and treacherous current. Thanks.

There should be schoolies trhoughout the pond, as well as lots of hickory shad around the islands, or up near Jerusalem. Should be able to get fluke from the main channel between Snug Harbor and Jerusalem area. Snappers should be around as well. If you're looking for bigger bass, try bait around the docks at Galilee
Good Fishin

Steve, if you see a Sundance skiff on the pond just follow him around and you'll do quite well !!

Hickories

Thanks for all the replies. I take it I should find the Hickory Shad around the islands? My 11 year old and I hit the Niantic River yesterday. The kids' arms were ready to fall off after hauling in one shad after another. I prefer to liveline them for Stripers.
I am somewhat familiar with the pond. I have been out there clamming previous years. Can't wait for the Stuffies and Chowdah! Tight lines.

I've often found many shad breaking at sunset just south of the islands, but you can always catch them up by the state pier in Jerusalem. Took a ride by there last night and they were bringing 'em in. Just look for the dilapidated old pier with about 30 people hanging off the end. BTW, that would be Denis in the Sundance
