Another observation is the fact that there are TONS of small sand eels elsewhere.
You could walk to shore on em.
(Although the spot in question you could walk to shore anyhow.)

The past few years, fishing the Upper Bay in the boat, there has always been a very noticeable exit by the bass beginning in late May and June, but that didn't seem to really happen this year.
Maybe the next few weeks will improve if they finally eat all that bunker up there.

Pete you are right, ask the guys fishing the bay in boats there doing great the fish will stay in the deeper cooler water of the bay as long as there is food, also N.J. is still holding large fish that is usually up here by now once again by food not water temps. The fish I kept last night had one little baby scup in it's gut thats it.

I caught some qaulity fish in June but overall it was disappointing. It was a hunt and peck game for sure. My "for sure" spots didnt produce and others I hadnt fished in quite some time did. Just when you think you got it figured out, you realize you don't.

I liked May better. I've caught lots of stripers during June, lots of small stripers. I thought a 12" striper wasn't supposed to hit a 9" sluggo. I suck.

Simply put, this has been one of my worst seasons in recent memory - June included. I'm definitely snakebitten this year.
