I have a 16' starcraft with a 7.5hp Honda. It's not the fastest thing but with 2 guys in it, it will pull 2 scallop drags no problem. My uncle sunk it back in the 60's ( too many scallops + 2' waves = swamp)and it's still tight. The wind pushes the bow around a bit, but if you put some weight up front it makes it alot better.

If it is 14' it will be perfect. The thing looks mint. I fish 2 people all the time in mine. 12' is a little small but still workable for one. Right out in front of your house. I had a 9.9 Evinrude on my 14' for years and it was great. After I finally blew it up I went to a 15hp johnson and it is perfect. You can do a lot of fishing with a boat that size. I would go off shore 2 or 3 miles all the time weather permitting. Did scare myself a few times though. If you get it give me a call I will show you tons of spots for that thing. Go over with 700 cash he will take it. I would get it. Good luck. P.
