Friday fishing
Well since Friday looked to be our best chance to get out in my little boat with Danny, I took a day off and we headed to the Cape Thursday night. We went to Race point for sundown and were greeted with a shoreline covered with weed, mung, green lettuce and in the sea was plenty of bait for the birds and many seals the fish were not there, so back to camp to watch some football. Friday 5:00 AM leave the camp with the boat and head for undisclosed Harbor get there and launch, 1st one there. Tide was just about slack begginning of outgoing so it was popper time. Got a decent one but not much else so we moved to find fish. Headed out and found a few small bass and small blues so we went way up inside and hassled the schoolies that were chowing on peanuts, the water was deep enough to stay for an hour or so , so I put on a jighead for Danny with a white cocahoe minow, I used a 4" splittail ledgerunner in smoke and began to bail fish one after another. Danny was all smiles, we must have landed 40 fish. So we head back to the first spot again as it was not even 10:00 yet and I start with what works great for me there, a pink sluggo. I nabbed a decent fish that took some drag on the light tackle rod and reel and got a few more before we called it quits. Dan had fun and we brought home some dinner for Sat. night which was delicious. Made fish sticks in olive oil and the rest on the grille. I like fresh fish that is cooked well. Some think bass taste tasteless but if you cook it with the right spices and stuff it is great in my opinion.
I know they were boatfish but they still count

Nice job Bruce and son. I was there Fri. too if it is where I think it is. I didn't get there till noon for some fluke, plenty there now. I went out this morning too and got a couple small keepers at sun up on top water. They were chasing some bigger bait this morning along with the usual sand eels. Left early to avoid the x-mas rush. BTW still waiting on my boss to weld your stuff. P.
