ide say check at low slack, once the wind and surf have subsided. thats allota pots for someone to take.

also..maybe call the enviros to see if they pulled them. i heard they do spot checks and if one thing isnt right, they will pull them...all.

If it was two strings, thats only two bouys right? Its possible that they got cut by a prop... How deep were they? Did he rig them with a float line from the bottom and a sink line from the bouy? Sometimes if you have way to much line for shallow water your float could make it to the top and get cut...

10 individual traps, 10 individual bouys. orange, white and blue, no sticks. set about 35-40 feet deep, all close together. all with sinking warp from the bouys.
there are tons of pots in the area, comm. and rec..
if you come out the merrimac and bang a left there about 3/4 mile up. if they blew in, they'd be right up on the beach at salsbury whear the breakwater starts, whear they walk the horses..
i couldn't see someone stealing all 10 of them? or cutting all 10
i don't think a comm guy would do that and risk bieng caught/retaliation? i could see pulling them and emptying them? but taking the traps and everything?
who knows?
i'll call the enviros today see if they know anything ?

Wasn't there a similar post on here about someone missing their pots? The EPO took them all because of a latch problem.

FF: there seems to be a trend, I too went out Sunday 9/17 to find (or not find) 7 out of my 10 pots MIA. Mine were in the same area that you described and have the same colors, orange on top, white in center, and pale blue on the bottoms on the bouys. All 10 were stand alone traps and bouys; they all had orange sticks with a small orange flag on top. I went out again this Sunday at dead low to see if any of the missing ones had popped but no luck. I don't know if the missing ones were due to Florrence or what. I believe all my traps were compliant to regs.
