John, who would object to a simple White T shirt with the official SB logo on the back?? Thats all i'm saying, you can't go wrong with that design. Its simple and straight to the point. Simple is always better, alot of people dont like flashy stuff.

I have a few TheHullTruth tshirts,
They make it very clear of what the hull truth is even for someone who never heard of that site.
It comes down to this,
Are we doing a shirt desigh for the site or plug building ???
If you (John) are doing a shirt for plug building it's awesome, and I don't want to make you think all the time & work you put into it is not appreciated,
But I thought this was a FISHING site !!!
Not one that caters to only 1 portion of it's members !

The thread asked if we would buy one of these and then when some say no we do not like it some find they must get testy? All they did was give their answer to the question. I think Johns idea is to have a shirt that will sell to the LARGEST number here or am I missing something here? If the shirt is not to help bring money to the site then yes any design would be fine. But if it is to bring $$$$$$$ to the site then you would want a shirt that would give you the best sales to the MOST number of members. To that end John I would be willing to donate up to $500.00 for the print work of a SB.com logo shirt that sells SB.com only and I will not ask to have my name put on it just want the first shirt.

OK moneybags - Maybe I'm just beating myself over the head a little with the whole shirt thing. And no, I would not have you do that
If this were the plugs, and not "sponsored by" yadayadayada , with the Normal S-B logo over the front pocket, would that seem "less commercial" ?
As for this appearing just for the plugs, we have ALL different kinds of anglers here and one of the most consistant threads in our community is the custom plugs beacuse a lot of people fish them - not talking about building - but fish them, from surf, canal, boat, yak.

John,
Please understand that I am in no way attempting to take away from what you've done. It can be tweaked though and I'm willing to help.
Very simple design:
Front of shirt says: "Support your Local Hookers" small print bold/font
Back of shirt has the sb logo same as the automobile stickers. Humor and you deliver your message in one color ink.
Or you could do a picture of a guy hooked up to a fish on the back.
The design shown:
John the design you show looks very busy and Im getting the idea that the main focus are three dif. things but they realy dont all play well together. 1. the sb logo. 2. the lures, looks great! but as was mentioned maybe a bit much I mean I love it, but not tied together with 1 & 3. Section three looks like it was tacked on as after thought. Again Im not attacking your work just giving my opinion. If anything I'm willing to help you work on this
Suggestions for the current design would be to increase the font size of the logo name on the back, and remove the sponsor names from the back of the shirt. This makes section 1 and 2 place a little nicer together.
Take the sponsors names, every sponsor: Have them run listed horizontally but in clear text on the sleeves of the T's.
Or have the art work on the front of the shirt, and the sb logo, same as the stickers on the back of the shirt with a listing of the sponsors on the back of the shirt. This would make soo much more sense with mock ups. If I have time today I'll hop on it.

I second that idea.
Now that I think of it John, it's nice but it really doesn't represent the site to me.
I think u should make an #^^^^^^& shirt too, bet you'd sell a lot of them. Maybe like my avitar with a pic of #^^^^^^& in the middle..Sorry Bill, couldn't resist.

I don't like that
I'd gladly pay the extra 5 bucks to not have those names or ads on the bottom. I won't be buying that one with the names, nothing against those guys, I just don't feel it belongs.
It was supposed to be a batch of shirts for the plugfest we always have every winter, but I guess it evolved into that.
A nice t-shirt with maybe the S-B logo from the site up in the left top corner on the front and the pic of plugs without the sponsors would be a much better choice.
my 2 cents

No offense John, but I figured an official site shirt would be a simple and to the point logo. That one is way too busy and doesn't really promote the site. It's more like promoting the sponsors. Nothing wrong with that, but a site only shirt is what I'd want if I had a choice.
I'd pay whatever you asked for a couple with this on it, and maybe the bumper sticker logo on the other side.

JOhn,
Let spence and I deliver a few designs/ideas.
If Im understanding this the design was meant for the plug fest we have in the first few months of the season. If thats the case The shirt is great for that. I dont think it would be something that woud encompass the membership as a whole.
Looks like a lot of the work is done for the plug fest shirt though. Sb logo on the front. Plugs n stuff sans sponsors on the back.
What Im feeling for an sb shirt that would emcopass all the membership would be a simple small design on the front. And the sb suto sticker logo on the back.
So, it breaks down to a simple bread and butter shirt. Small design on the front, and the auto ab logo on the back. Sponsor listings on the sleeves of the shirt, I figure 4 or 5 sponsors (do we even have that many?) listed horizontally on the sleeves of the t shirt small logo on the front and large sb suto sticker logo on the back. Very simple shirt, but it emcompasses the membership, if I'm reading correctly peoples responses.
Again, John not to take away from your efforts or what youve done, but I think the simple/r shirt is what folks want. And I mean yeah its a simple shirt, but folks will still pay a premium for the shirt because its going to support the site and we're all aware of this.
The plug fest shirt for the early spring is done, pretty much. You've done just about everything for and just having the plugs on the back of the shirt, and an sb logo on the front will cover that no problem. And with all the colors etc involved in that shirt that would be more of a price hike, but again, we all know its to generate funds for the site so I mean personally I would be willing to pay 25+ for a shirt done up that way.

Yes, I will buy one of this design, and will probably buy subsequent design shirts, assuming they still help keep the lights on.
Some make this seem like an end all prom dress decision........print 'em and they will sell, just watch.

i agree its kind of silly to be arguing about the design of a shirt. i do however think it shows how much this community cares about s-b
I think the main concern is what being represented. I want to wear a shirt that repsents s-b, not AH or HABS etc etc... (no offense to the sponsers) I kind of think its the sponsors jobs to sell their own duds.
This time John, I don't think anyone will fault you for being selfish in your design to being about your creation... that we all truly appreciate.
again, i'll 1 or 2 of whatever to keep the lights on!

I'd love to see a regular rectangular bumper sticker of the logo.
that would look sweet and take no extra design time - provided you already have a high resolution version.
and, you could easily slap it up through cafe-press

how long did it take before you did the s-b.com stickers and the short-lived hat?
heck, how long did it take the various 'xperts here to master their particular craft.

My opion is this, what is this shirt for?? It looks like a plug shirt and does not represent the SB site.
To much going on, to busy!!
I would not buy it, sorry, I know you did a lot of work John, but its just not something I think the site need.
Something Clean Cut that shows the site is all that is needed.
You know that I am a member of the Wellcraft site and we have all kinds of years and styles of V20's on the board.
We had shirts done by a member and went with the first V20 made for the shirt which happens to be a Cuddy.
This is the first year shirt:
This is the 2nd year shirt
I think it would be nice with the S-B like the bumper sticker over the Left chest.
And a nice bass on the back with the SB.Com address at the bottom.
This will be great representation for the site, and it is a fishing site first and a rod building, plug building, boating site 2nd.
Ok I shut up now, I hope no one is offeneded! Just sugesting.
If this shirt is for something else other then for the whole site, and you are making it a plugfest thing then this is fine.
