National Freight Company Goes Belly Up
CHICOPEE, MASSACHUSETTS
(WWLP, September 3, 2002) It looks like the end of the road for a 73-year-old tr#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g company. Consolidated Freightways -- known for its familiar red and green "c-f" logo -- says it is filing for chapter eleven bankruptcy protection and laying off as many as 15-thousand people around the country. The company has a terminal in Chicopee. There is no word on the exact impact for local employees.
