Fish pics II

With so many nice fish being caught I'm always looking for new ideas as to how to (thinking out of the box when taking pics.)its not easy I mean there's only so many ways you can hold a fish.

On page 42 of this months OTW you see Crazy Al holding a bass qaurtering to ya. In that pic not only is it different but IMO because that fish doesn't look to have big sholders or gut he's trying to get the best he could out of it. Another good pic I like is the one Al has the bass over a large rock, it realy shows off the fish nicely and its unique.

There are few pics I like of bass being held verticly. I also don't think that haveing a pic taken with the bass curled(most of the tail on the ground) is that good either. IMO the fish held up and down are best but its kinda like a game of inches and the guy taken the pics knows what to look for. Any other different ideas as to how to hold a bass.
Starting this thread has nothing to do with the other one.

Crazy Al has alot of experience with getting his picture taken, and has has some impressive catches to say the least. Lots of them are taken by professionals I bet. Some people just have a knack, kinda like some have a knack at catching fish like nobodys business when the guy next to him is not. With ditgital cameras these days and their capacity, you should be abale to take many shots then choose from them. I have read threads on the fishi ng boards with advice on how to take good shots, just look at Fisheyes pics, there's some good examples.

I think good pictures are more about the fisherman than the fish. Think of the fish as a prop in the picture, rather than the central character, and you get a better end result. This is part of the reason pictures of kids with fish are usually better.

First of all Tony........the answer is NO!!

I'm not going to photography classes to take pictures of the fish you catch . . .

I think pictures look best when taken ASAP. You don't want to lose the vibrant colors of the fish and the original smile of the angler - the down-side to that is, after catching something worth taking a picture of...the first thought is usually to get back out there and catch another one like it or bigger, and the ONLY thought on the photographers' mind who DIDN'T just catch that big slob is to CAST.

Goose thats why I like the pic of you walking away with a bass in each hand. When I look at that pic I see a guy that fished all weekend, but now hes all done and going home to fillet a couple a really nice bass!!!!!!!!
Its not your typical "yes I caught a fish and I am holding up to show the camera" BORING!
Its amazing how the subjects can be the same but if you just change the placement of things a little it can give the photo a much different feel!
